Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964, is a Danish actor. He has played Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral election candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock) as well as the Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011, aged of 27. In 1995, he was admitted to the National Theatre School of Denmark. He was also in The Killing's drama. In the following years, he played in Borgen III and Those Who Kill and Those Who Kill, both highly well-known Danish dramas. He was the President of Russia in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock. In the year 2018, he took home an International Emmy Award for his character in the lead character on the Danish television drama Herrensveje. It aired in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in 2019.
